Mikatagoko lake, which spreads out in Mihama-cho, Wakasa-cho, is a spectacular spot where you can see all the lakes from the observatory of Rainbow Line Summit Park. You can overlook the Sea of Japan and Mikatagoko lake in all directions, north, south, east and west. Mikatagoko lake is a general term for five lakes located across Mihama-cho, Mikata-gun, Fukui Prefecture and Wakasa-cho, Mikatakaminaka-gun, Fukui Prefecture, and plum fields spread around it. It is a nationally designated scenic spot and belongs to Wakasa Bay National Monument. It was registered as a wetland designated by the Ramsar Convention on November 8, 2005.You can drive up to the middle and lifts are available above the first parking lot. There is a cable car even for those with poor legs, so you can climb to the top with confidence.
The footbath observatory on the east side of the mountaintop park won the "Cool Japan Award", which is selected to disseminate the scenic spots of Japan overseas! The mountaintop park, which has been certified as a sacred place for lovers, is also popular as a power spot for love, with "Ichisha Ryosai," "Wago Shrine," and "Happiness Bell." Even in strong sunlight or sudden rain, there are free rentals of rainbow umbrellas, and there are many spots where you can take brilliant pictures.
