A gift from Kagoshima Nature | Kagoshima Prefecture

Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park is the one of first National Parks in Japan and surrounds Sakurajima sporadically emitting ash and creating a unique landscape. The volcanic area boasts many local specialties, including black vinegar, Sakurajima radish and sweet potato.

At the home of black vinegar, Sakamoto Brewing Co., Ltd. gives us tours of the old-fashioned Tsubobatake, earthenware jars. You can enjoy tasting and buying it as well.

"Sume" is a traditional stove that utilizes the geothermal heat from natural hot springs. Even now some dishes are still prepared using sume.

And also you can harvest Sakurajima radishes and enjoy meals which is made from local produces of Sakurajima.
